Collegetown is an online magazine covering current affairs, culture, and college. We seek to elevate our coverage above the obvious news, the cursory glance, and the surface level, and instead strive to be a publication that takes the second look, speaks to the broader context, and produces interesting, thoughtful, and sharp student journalism. We publish longform articles, features, reports, and profiles—and we do it because there needs to be a place for damn good writing.
A collegetown is a place found in the blurred lines between universities and their surrounding communities. This magazine, founded by friends in a collegetown called Ithaca, New York, seeks to embody the culture found in these youthful, lively, and hopeful places, while taking a critical look at all their problems.
Founded by friends in a collegetown called Ithaca, NY, Collegetown is the voice of local communities and the universities that call them home.
